One More Thing About NUBES
By Jim Smith
One thing I wanted to emphasize from last week's article about NUBES is the training we are offering on SOCIAL NETWORKING and what it can do for your sales. You need to learn the concept of "VIRAL MARKETING" and what it means to your business.
If nothing else, the section on Social Networking during the afternoon session will be worth the cost of the event. People my age (very old) smile when we hear talk about "tweeting" someone or "facebook friends" or people being "Linked in". But we have got to get over that and learn how to operate a business in the new century - which is already 10 years old! Heck, 10% of the "new century" is already HISTORY! Don't wait any longer!
Want an example of a Chamber member who "gets it"? How about Lloyd Carr of Carr Printing, one of our long-standing Executive Circle members? Lloyd is not young (sorry Lloyd) but you have got to see what he has done with the electronic age of marketing. We had a ribbon cutting for Carr Printing as they kicked off an amazing new product. Wait until you see his on-line directory that can be accessed almost instantaneously by your iPhone! Soon to come, on your Blackberry! Contact them for more info.
COME TO NUBES AND LEARN A BIT MORE ABOUT SOCIAL NETWORKING. When the event is over, I will provide you with a list of Chamber members who are experts in this field and who can help you capitalize on your new information base. FYI - We at the Chamber already met with someone to help us get more into this form of communication.
See you at NUBES. Contact us at 801 593 2200 or daviscc@davischamberofcommerce.com to reserve your spot today. We only have 200 seats available. Don't miss out/
Thanks. Jim |

Layton Interchange:
- Northbound I-15 will be restricted to two lanes from 8 p.m. - 11 a.m.
- Southbound I-15 will be restricted to two lanes from 7 p.m. - 4 a.m.
Main Street Reconstruction Begins March 3: Roadway excavation on Main Street will begin on Wednesday, March 3. Work will begin at the south end of Main Street, near the I-15 southbound on-ramp, and move northward. Work will reach the Gentile Street intersection within approximately three weeks. Work north of the intersection, through Church Street, is expected to begin by late March. During the excavation and reconstruction, one lane will be maintained in each direction on Main Street but may be modified as needed. For the first phase of work, travel lanes will be located near the center of the current roadway. Business access will be maintained but driveway locations may change as construction progresses.
As reconstruction work moves northward, parking on the east side of Main Street near the Gentile Street/Main Street intersection will be limited. On-street parking will be provided on the east side of the roadway just south of the intersection and a parking area will be created on the northeast corner of the intersection (old Trading Post location).
