Good News in Davis County
The Davis Chamber congratulates the Utah Procurement Team on completing another terrific year. This team helps develop procurement opportunities for Utah businesses and is served by the following team members: Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC), Utah Defense Alliance (UDA) and Logistics Specialties/Shipley Associates (LSI). In 2008, the Utah Procurement Team helped Utah businesses win $284 million in total contracts for Utah business. That represents $167 in contract awards coming to Utah for every $1 spent to administer the program. Some of the companies assisted include: Ensign Global of Kaysville ($150,000 for helicopter balancing software), Global Language of Bountiful ($500,000 to teach Arabic to military personnel), H3Tec from Kaysville ($7,940,000 for contracts with Indian tribes and an oil company, The Metal Shop of Syracuse ($13,000 contract to provide sheet metal work for the Veterans Administration) and Promontory Management Group of Layton ($65,000 contract with Nature's Way), and Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center of Clearfield ($190,000 contract with HAFB for distributing and warehousing). Good luck to these local businesses and thanks again to the Utah Procurement Team for making good news possible.

2nd Annual Business Expo
"Soaring to New Heights"
The Davis Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the 2nd Annual Business-2-Business Expo, Thursday, February 26, 2009, 10 am to 4 pm at the Davis Convention Center, 800 West Heritage Park Blvd. in Layton. The public is invited to attend this free event. As a Chamber knows that every business is a potential customer and every customer is a potential business. That is why they are pleased to offer this opportunity for Northern Utah businesses to showcase their products and services to other business professionals from around the county...as well as to members of the general public. "The Davis Chamber Business-2-Business Expo is the best forum for local businesses to expand their public profile, their vendor contacts, and their customer base...at rates they can't afford to miss," said Davis Chamber CEO John Pitt. "This is an essential element of our plan to provide unsurpassed growth opportunities to our members and to Davis County businesses in general," Pitt continued. There is room for more than 70 presenter booths at this year's expanded Expo. Most have already been reserved by eager local businesses, although a few spaces remain. "We expect to fill all of our available exhibit spaces with dynamic local companies, which will in turn bring hundreds of prospective customers to enjoy the show and to seek out new business relationships. That is what the Chamber is all about," said Chamber Event Director Jeanie Shehan-Bosen. This event is free to the public. Businesses should contact the Davis Chamber if they want to present or if they want more info on how to direct their customers and vendors to the Expo. Space is limited, so call today.
