Inland Seas Music Festival
July 17, 2010
Celebrating the Great Lakes
The annual Inland Seas Music Festival will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2010 on the waterfront at the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay.
This year's Festival begins at 9:00am with the 5K Schoolship Run along scenic Lake Michigan. It is only $30 to participate, and all runners receive a t-shirt and water bottle. Check out the ISEA website for more information and to register for the run.
The Inland Seas Music Festival will provide live music from several area groups from 10:00am - 5:00pm on the main stage and by the schooner dock. Performances include Song of the Lakes, Handy Billy, Wild Sullys, and Interlochen Ensemble-Brass Quintet.
Throughout the day, activities will be provided for the whole family, including fish painting, boat tours, wetland walks, carp bash, and many more. A variety of food will be provided by local restaurants, and the winners of our raffle will be announced at the end of the day. Head to ISEA's website to to learn more about this event for the entire family.
Northwestern Bank is the lead sponsor of the 2010 ISEA Music Festival. Three additional underwriters have stepped forward to join Northwestern Bank to make the ISEA Festival possible. ISEA thanks the Bonek Agency, Dennis Gartland and Niergarth, and the Suttons Bay Art Festival.

Toxic Pollution Still Threatens the Great Lakes
A new report released by Pollution Watch states that facilities released just over 460 million tons of pollutants into the Great Lakes in 2007. Many emerging contaminants originate from consumer products and better regulation of toxic chemicals could dramatically help prevent Great Lakes pollutants. For more information on this topic, check out the Great Lakes United press release, or you can download the report from the Pollution Watch website. |
