Suttons Bay has just iced over, and this is good news as it helps cut down on evaporation and protects the eggs of whitefish. We also had a nice view of two bald eagles on the ice in front of the Center yesterday. Even though it is mid-winter outside, we at Inland Seas are busy with preparations for spring Schoolship. The Volunteer Instructor Class, with 35 new trainees, is well underway (but it is not too late for you to join) and we have 74 classes signed up for spring. We are also busy responding to the challenges of a shrinking economy, with renewed vigor to tighten our belts and bring in new financial support.
In just two short months you will see our red sails back on the Bay. We are looking forward to a great 21st sailing season!
