DAYLIGHT SAVINGS EVENT

Put on by Michigan Green Consortium and local green businesses Join Michigan Green Consortium in putting on the first comprehensive, community-wide recycle, re-use and re-purpose event on the waterfront on Sunday, November 1, 2009, from 10am until 3pm in Parking Lot B (where the Sara Hardy Farmer's Market operates). Michigan Green Consortium is devoted to promoting local member businesses that provide green products and services or adopt environmentally-sound business practices. The Daylight Savings Event was designed to encourage all of our local residents to use the "extra hour" gained by daylight savings time to actively do their part in protecting, restoring, recycling and reusing our natural resources.

Greetings! ,

super heroIt's a bird, it's a plane....it's the most successful HBAGTA Membership Drive EVER!

Our HBA is sponsoring a fabulous and fun Annual Membership Drive on Oct. 7th and 8th.  On Tuesday evening, Oct. 6th, the association will host a Kick-Off party and picnic dinner at the office from 5:30-6:30 p.m.  The theme this year is Super Heros - Membership Defenders!  There will be a prize drawing for those who show up in any sort of Super Hero gear.  So rev up your Batmobile or grab your Superman cape from the closet and come join the party! Everyone participating in any way in the "Biggest and Best Membership Drive Ever!" is cordially invited to attend.

Recruiters who serve on a Membership Drive Team are also eligible for some fantastic prizes including cash awards and gift coupons that may be used for HBA events such as the golf outing, advertising, professional development opportunities or guest meals.

See below to see what we have in store for our new members which includes almost  $1,500 worth of incentives.  If you would like to join the fun, contact the HBA office at 231-946-2305 or any of our team captains:

BUILDER HELPER SAVES TIME & MONEY!

builder helper logoThe newest HBAGTA member benefit was unveiled at the September General Membership meeting.  For those who missed it, this free internet software for builders and trades professionals to assist them with estimating, bidding, scheduling and warranty management is called Builder Helper.  It will soon be available in the Grand Traverse region thanks to the generosity of some local sponsors.

Trades associates who sign up will get a free basic account that allows them to network with HBA builders and bid online with up to 3 general contractors.  It also offers trades professionals a chance to receive email and text messages regarding open bids.  This eliminates a great deal of running around town chasing down potential jobs.

General Contractors can save a great deal of money by not having to make duplicate sets of plans.  All building project plans can be stored electronically and distributed to those you wish.  Think about the value of having your "to scale" plans readily available to your subcontractors.  Imagine the time savings of sending rapid email or cell phone notifications to open bidding.

A free training will soon be available for any HBA member interested.  An email invitation will be sent from Builder Helper within a few days.  However, for more information, check out www.builderhelper.com.  Flyers about Builder Helper are also available at the HBA office.
