NAHB LOGO SURVEY |
In September 2007, the NAHB Board of Directors charged the Branding Task Force with developing a strategy to strengthen the NAHB brand in order to meet the increasingly diverse and competitive business challenges we are facing in the future. One component of their research focused on what best represents NAHB visually and whether the Association should revise the current logo which was established in 1942. The Task Force's recommendation for a new mark was presented at the last Board of Directors meeting in San Diego. At that time, the Board asked the Task Force to create a broader set of concepts for NAHB's logo for their consideration at the 2009 IBS. Visit the NAHB Web Site to give your opinion. | |

| Greetings! ,

Our economy is in a shambles; some of our best and brightest leaders are challenged to find substantive ways to stop the downward spiral. Not only has every region of our state been sucked into this ugly vortex, but nearly every segment of our national and global economy as well. So, why am I feeling so hopeful? My optimism index is soaring! Perhaps it has more to do than anything with the fervor surrounding the inauguration of our 44th President of the United States today. Regardless of your political persuasion, one cannot help but be moved by a newfound spirit of camaraderie among people of various backgrounds and the apparent willingness of our diverse populace to work together as a people united in a common purpose! And in this amazing period in our nation's history where hope appears to have been born anew, I encourage you will see that there is a lesson here for our association as well. Yes, there will be challenges as we work through 2009. Some of our friends and business associates will no longer have the means to maintain their livelihood as they once did. Many will have to make some extremely tough personal and professional decisions. However, we are the industry leaders: professionals dedicated to providing the finest building products and services to our customers; - knowledgeable professionals fully licensed where applicable by law and who adhere to the highest standards of business ethics. We are powerful advocates for our industry who ensure that our governmental representatives are guided in making wise regulatory decisions that bolster our economic engine, not impede it. As you review your priorities this year, set your goals, develop or revise your business and marketing plan, please remember that your HBAGTA exists to promote, support and sustain you. Together we can accomplish more than we believe you can individually. "Yes We Can!"
Together, we are building a stronger association!

REV UP YOUR REVENUE WITH SWEETHEART DEALS |
The 2009 EXPO plans are being finalized. HBAGTA members increasingly see the wisdom of being part of the action this year. Yes, the format is the same; however the products and services that will be showcased are fresh and new. Currently, we have 85 exhibitors who will have an unprecedented opportunity to showcase their products and services to the 2000+ folks expected to attend the annual event. Our EXPO committee has utilized a thematic approach this year, underscoring the fact that it is Daytona 500 Weekend as well as Valentine's Day. So "Rev Up Your Revenue" and provide your customers with a "Sweetheart of a Deal!" at this year's show that will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14th and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15th. Guests who visit our vendors and have their "Pit Passes" signed will be entered to win a 46" Sony Bravia TV, a 7-night stay at a beach house in Siesta Key, a Get-Away Weekend at Drummond Island, Spa Packages from Crystal Mountain, dinners for two, and a "Maid for a Day" plus lots of other door prizes, discounts and gifts. A Micro-Reality race track will on site for race fans of all ages to test their driving prowess. The Sound Room is featuring a home theater where people can relax and perhaps catch a bit of the Daytona action. Dozens of new and timely seminars in a fresh venue are planned. Especially important this year is the focus on energy savings, tax credits and ways to remodel and refurbish affordably. If you are interested in being a vendor, the deadline is near. Booth rental fees are being held at $7 per square foot through January. Applications, Rules & Regulations and the Mid-States Exposition rental agreement are on our website at www.hbagta.com. Call the office to find out how you can be a part of this "Sweetheart Showcase!"
