| Happy New Year!
Here's hoping for a better and brighter future for all of us in the housing industry. In times like these, please remember that you need to continue to establish a marketing presence. One of the best ways to keep your company's name in front of thousands of potential customers is with cost-effective advertising in the HBAGTA 2009 Membership Directory. Paper and online advertising space is still available. Call Kerry Anne at 946-2305 or email her at kag@hbagta.com.
The deadline to advertise in our 2009 Membership Directory is Friday, January 9th.

Membership Directory Update Letters |
|
Our new association data management software, Builder Fusion is fabulous but it has taken the staff a lot longer than expected to get all the information entered into the thousands of data fields. However, the good news is that we are finally sending out the 2009 Membership Directory Update Forms to all of you by US mail. We had hoped to mail them right before Christmas but decided there was a greater chance the form would be lost among holiday invitations and greeting cards. Now we ask that you NOT set this form aside but rather examine the information immediately, change what you need to and fax it back to us immediately. Our HBAGTA fax number is 231-946-1051. We know it's short notice, but it only takes a few minutes. Please help us get the most accurate and up-to-date information for your company.

| Lapsed Licenses May Stall Your Directory Listing
If you are one of a few members who are not yet fully compliant with the licensure law by the time the 2009 HBAGTA Membership Directory goes to print, more than likely, your company name will not appear in the paper edition. We have made a huge effort to communicate with our members about the licensing requirments. Our Board outlined a generous time frame to be compliant. However, some folks have just not responded to our letters, emails and phone calls. In order to have this ready for distribution at EXPO, we need to send the copy to the printer next week.
If you just are waiting for verification of an individual or company license, please know that once you have everything up-do-date, we will gladly add you to the online directory.
The simple fact is that the law requires that if you are a Residential Building or Maintenance and Alteration LLC, partnership or corporation, you must hold a company license. In addition, the Qualifying Officer of that company must also hold an individual license.
Parade of Homes Kick-Off Monday January 12th
|
|
Our next General Membership Meeting is this coming Monday, January 12th at the Waterfront Conference Center. It also is our Parade of Homes Kick-Off. If you would like to reserve a table top for that evening, please call Judy at 946-2305 right away. The cost is only $50.
In addition, we will have a Builder Forum at 4:30 p.m. on the topic, "Integration of New Technology - Wind Power". Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. A plated lasagna dinner is planned for 6 p.m. President Victor Lisabeth will be highlighting his goals for the coming year. Mr. Robert Skylis will talk after dinner on how to increase your sales - really! - in a down economy. To make reservations, please call the office or email mailbox@hbagta.com.
