Dear Colleague:
This has been a tough year. And, we know that you've got very limited resources. But we also know that in order to make it through the most challenging housing market we've ever experienced, you'll need every weapon in your arsenal. You won't have that unless you have the most up to date knowledge on the latest products available, as well as access to the experts who have lived through similar times and prospered. Quite simply, the 2009 International Builders' Show® is where you need to be.
In that vein, we've done everything we can to make the show more affordable to attend:
- Registration: We've lowered the cost to attend the exhibits significantly, as well as lowering the cost to access our education. Here's what's new in 2009.
- Hotels: As hotel rates decline, NAHB's staff continues to work with the Las Vegas hotels that are included in our block to make sure you are getting the lowest hotel block rates possible. If the hotel rates are reduced even more after you have registered, you will still get the lowest negotiated rate. We've also heard that there are some great deals to be had on the Internet travel websites. Just be aware that the IBS hotel shuttle buses will only service NAHB's official hotels.
- Airfare: Some great airfare deals can be found on Internet travel websites, but as the show gets closer, airline seats will get harder to find, so we encourage you to book your airline reservations now. Also, NAHB has worked with American Airlines and Delta Air Lines to secure special rates for IBS attendees.
- Car Rentals: We've secured special rates with Hertz, Avis and Budget, making it affordable to drive either cross-country or across town.
Register now and start making plans to take advantage of all that IBS has to offer or visit www.buildersshow.com to learn more about the largest annual light construction show in the world.

Greetings! ,
Happy Holidays to Everyone! In many ways both large and small we have reason to celebrate this holiday season. Our members individually and collectively have accomplished so much. While things may not be as rosy as they have been in previous holiday seasons, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. I encourage all of us to focus on what's really important - family, friends and business associates whom we hold dear. During this beautiful season, there is no better gift that you can give them than a gift of your time and acknowledging how much they mean to you, your family or business. A heartfelt, hand written note of appreciation may go much further than some hastily purchased gift that merely got checked off your "To Do" List. I want to thank the dedicated HBAGTA leaders who have given so much of themselves this year, especially our Executive Officers, Scott Duensing, Victor Lisabeth, Rob Whims, Mike Farrer and BJ Stark and Roger Papineau as well as Directors Marc Burkholder, Mike Bartkowiak, Chuck Drouillard, Jody Fisk, Denny Lauterbach, Steve Merten, Kendall Smith, Junior VanDyke and Donn Westman. Also, I am grateful to our HBA Committee Chairs and association leaders who have given an inordinate amount of their time and talent this past year: Chad Craker, Donn Westman, Kim Engel, Max Strickland, Jeff Dufort, Dale Bush, Jeremy Truog, Steve Eveleigh, Nick Agostinelli, Bud Hierlihy, Max Binkley, Julie Courtade, Deb Highway, Jim Anderson, Micheline Padella, Robb Bollenberg, Lee Galison, Matt Vajda, Ted Hebblewhite, Pat Cline, Tim Simonelli, Kevin Jaeger, Dennis Fox, Chris Feys, Eric Palmer, Jerry Stricker, Marv Saxton, Sharon Starks, Julie Courtade, Rick MacKinnon, Angie Glynn, Sheila Lowe, Cathy Martin, George Prewitt, Rebecca Whitehead, Ryan Brown, Jeannie Lee, Debbi Waisanen, Gail Chambers, Gary Barker, Kathleen White, Sean McCardel, Patrick Machin, Jim McManus, Jim Carruthers, Paul Maurer, Mark Glynn, Bill Packer, Briant Sikorski and Michael Houlihan. Thank you all! Next week we will distribute the last issue of our Tuesday Toolbox for 2008. Our staff will be taking some time off during the holidays to spend with their loved ones. Our office will be closed Dec. 24-26th. We will also be closed on New Years Day.
Together, we are building a stronger association!

DEAR SANTA |
|
Dear Santa,
We've been very good this year and aren't asking for much. However, if there are any Elves who might be available after your busy Christmas rush, we could use their help and possible donations for our HBA office.
1.) New small sink upstairs installed.
2.) Holes patched and some fresh paint in the conference room.
3.) A truck to haul some things to Goodwill.
5.) An office safe.
6.) A lateral file cabinet.
7.) Nice framed artwork especially northern Michigan scenes or any related to the housing industry.
Your Friends,
kathy, Jenny & Judy
Please let us know by calling 946-2305 or emailing mailbox@hbagta.com. |
