Greetings! ,
Seasons Greeting - I hope that you are able to take some time to enjoy the spirit of this season! It is a time of giving and a celebration of our many blessings.
On Monday, December 8th, we will be celebrating the season with our Annual Awards and Installation of Officers at the Waterfront Conference Center. We hope you join us as we congratulate our 2008 award nominees and winners and thank them for their service to our Association and our Community. We will also recognize the hard work of all of our volunteers and Board Members. Our 2009 Board Officers will be installed on Monday, as well. These people are our leaders and we could not do what we do as an Association without their contributions.
The HBAGTA is also taking this opportunity to raise money through our Annual Scholarship Auction so that we can give back to our community in the form of educational scholarships. I encourage you to consider a donation of a service or product to this endeavor. If a donation is not possible, participating in this fun event as a bidder is all that we ask. Contact our office if you would like to make a donation to this very worthy cause.
The December GMM also includes a Builder Forum that will be presented by Greg Jenkins of Dingeman, Dancer and Chistopherson Law Firm. The one hour forum will begin at 4:30 pm. The social hour will begin at 5:00 pm, the Member Orientation at 5:30 pm and our meal will be served at 6:00 pm. Special Guest, Howard Walker, Representative for the 104th District, will be joining us for this holiday celebration. Guest Meals will be charged $25.
We would appreciate your RSVP by Friday, December 5 to prepare for this event. In addition, if you do RSVP and your plans change, please notify us as soon as possible. The number of meals served and the amount the Association pays for those meals is based on the response (or lack thereof) of our members. We cannot guarantee a meal if you do not RSVP. Please help us be fiscally responsible. We really don't want to pay for meals for "no shows". Please keep this in mind as you make or change your plans.

Our December General Membership Meeting will be held at the Waterfront Conference Center on Monday evening, December 8th. That night our newly elected officers will be installed. They are:

- BJ Stark, Secretary
- Mike Farrer, Treasurer
In addition, newly elected Board Member Bill Packer will take his oath.
The popular holiday auction will be held again to help support our annual scholarship fund. Any member, who has a product or service to donate, please let the HBA staff know. We would be glad to make arrangements to pick up your donation.

NAHB NATIONAL GREEN BUILDING AWARDS |

 November 6, 2008 - The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) announced today that applications are now being accepted for the 2009 NAHB National Green Building Awards.
The prestigious annual awards honor home builders, remodelers, home builders' associations and other organizations for advancing green building through innovative design and construction techniques, excellent educational programs and successful advocacy efforts.
The awards are presented at a gala dinner during the NAHB National Green Building Conference. The 11th annual conference is set for May 8-10 in Dallas.
