Fifth Sunday in Lent
Isaiah 43:16-21 Psalm 126
Philippians 3:4b-14
John 12:1-8
Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. |

Saint Luke's Offers Grief Support Group
The burden of coping with grief and loss can at times be overwhelming and debilitating. Healing can begin within a caring and supportive group where each participant is encouraged to share his/her journey with others. Once again we are offering a six-week support group experience for interested adults who may be struggling with an experience of loss. The group will be facilitated by the Rev. Steve DeGweck and Betsy Smith and will meet for six consecutive Monday evenings beginning April 12 at 7:00 pm in the Tilson Room. The group will focus on a different theme or aspect of the grief experience each week. Members will be encouraged (not required) to share their experiences and insights within a safe, supportive, and prayerful fellowship. We will require a minimum of five participants in order to offer the group, and registration will be capped at twelve persons. Non-Saint Luke's members may attend on a space-available basis. Registration for Saint Luke's members only will be taken until April 1. After that date, any remaining spaces in the group will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, or simply to know more about the group, call Steve (802-6203) or send him an e-mail at sdegweck@saint-lukes.com. |

Interfaith Dialogue Workgroup
Sunday Evening Program Continues
All are welcome to attend the last in the series from Bill Moyer's Journal sponsored by the Alabama Faith Council Interfaith Dialogue Workgroup. Come to Room 232 this Sunday, March 21, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. This last program is called Just Food. | Will Your Suitcase Be Overflowing When You Return From Spring Break?
When you unpack from vacation, remember to donate your unused toiletry samples to the Grace/Woodlawn Food Bank. Bring those little shampoo bottles, soaps, toothpaste, etc. to the church and place them in the box in the Commons marked "Grace Woodlawn Food Bank." Please make sure these items are not used and are unopened. Your little donation of something small has made a huge difference in the lives of many and for Grace/Woodlawn who directly serves many in need. In fact, the Food Bank has not had to budget monies for toiletries because of your generous donations!! Thank you! |
Stewardship of Creation
The Stewardship of Creation committee would like to say thank you to all of Saint Luke's clergy and staff for their support during the past couple of years. The birth of something new is not always a smooth process. We feel very fortunate that this committee has had smooth sailing because of the time, energy and support of ALL CLERGY and STAFF making it possible to care for God's creation.
Thank you! |
