September 2010 Club Tryouts Coming Soon!
|
|
Hello Vipers!
Viper Volleyball is excited to announce the Tryout Dates and our many NEW Coaches for the upcoming 2010-2011 Season. We have a lot of great things in store for our players this season and look forward to working with you and your family again this year!
The 2009-2010 Season was a great success for Viper, but each year we strive to make BIG improvements and better serve our community of volleyball players and families. Check out our website, come by and visit Rancho Sports Center or talk to one of our coaches about the great changes at Viper Volleyball.
One of the exciting things we are doing in September is inviting ALL Viper players to a University of Riverside college volleyball match. They are putting on an exciting promotion called Youth Jersey Night in which all kids 8th grade and below get in FREE by wearing their Youth Volleyball Team jersey to the game. We have invited all our Fall Training players who are 8th grade and under, but high school players are welcome too! See below for more details!
See you on the court,
Dana Burkholder Club Director

| Viper Coaching Staff
For the 2010-2011 Season, Viper has a great coaching line-up. We have a lot of veteran Viper staff, as well as some great new additions. To read more about all our coaches, go to our Coaches Page. We would like to specifically introduce one of our new coaches, Mary J o Peppler, who will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to Viper. Mary Jo is one of the most well known coaches in the United States and has coached at numerous levels to great success. Mary Jo has already been in the gym working with our 14 and under players and is making a big impact. We are really proud to have her on our coaching staff. Viper will be incorporating some of Mary Jo's Training Concepts throughout the club. Mary Jo is one of the Founders of the West Wind Volleyball Academy and does clinics nationwide
to provide opportunities for young people in sports, to help them grow
as leaders, to promote team values, and to enhance healthy lifestyles. For more on Mary Jo and all of Viper's coaches, go to our Coaches Page. |
Tournament Information - All Teams Club Tournaments generally begin in the month of January. Even before you know what specific team you're on, you can look to see when your age group plays and plan ahead. Once you know what team you're on, double check the calendar so you don't miss any changes! Make sure to look for your teams age group and division (if applicable). You will find a basic SCVA help page on our website that is very helpful. Elite and National Teams play in SCVA tournaments. Most SCVA Tournaments are held in San Diego, Temecula, Anaheim, Ontario and Long Beach areas. Exact tournament locations, pools and start times are posted on the website on the Wednesday or Thursday before the tournament. This information is posted on SCVA.org under the navigation icon "Juniors," then go to "girls" and then go to "weekend sites." All Local Teams play Spike-Fest Tournaments. These tournaments are held in Poway or Temecula. Most of them are already posted so take a look at Spike-Fest.com! |

Viper Beach Volleyball We have an all NEW Beach Volleyball page on our website! We will use this page to track our players beach play over the summer. Many of our players competed this summer and had great results. If you played this summer, please let us know so we can post it. Send Dana a summary and some photos to get posted. There are a lot of changes right now for beach volleyball - the biggest one being that the AVP stopped play. Due to loss in sponsors and profits, they had to stop the league mid-season. There are still other leagues going, but the AVP was certainly the biggest promoter of beach volleyball. Find for more news about beach volleyball on our new page soon! Click here to go to the Beach Page now! |
