Let's Prepare Together is a hands-on workshop for all Coalition residents that will provide practical information to increase personal safety, reduce risk, and organize neighbors before, during and after an emergency or disaster. It will also connect residents with city and county agencies, non-profit institutions, and community businesses who are working on pieces of the preparedness puzzle. Presenters from the Red Cross, City of Portland, and Multnomah County will share easy and practical ways to help you get prepared. The workshop will include speakers, exhibitors, snacks, door prizes, and children's activities. Neighbors Talk Back to TriMet About Cuts
TriMet is considering significant service cutbacks impacting lines 16, 17, and 77, which serve Linnton, the Northwest District and Northwest Industrial Area, and St. Johns. The proposed changes would limit accessibility for both residents and workers. In response, the Linnton Neighborhood Association helped mobilize residents in these areas with a petition, collecting well over 1,000 signatures in just a few weeks - and more petitions keep coming in. In addition, TriMet is planning to eliminate route 18, the only route serving the Hillside neighborhood. View proposed changes at the TriMet website. NW residents are encouraged to attend a public hearing on Wednesday, March 21, 4:30 - 6:30 PM, in the Portland Building Auditorium, 1120 SW 5th.
