Get the Lowdown on Leaf Collection
During November and mid-December the city removes leaves in designated areas for pedestrian, bike and car safety, and to prevent flooding caused by clogged storm drains. Leaf collection for zones in our area starts in late November. Last year the Portland Bureau of Transportation started billing residents for this service in designated leaf collection zones. Fees will still apply this year, and are $30 per home in most areas, although you can submit a form to opt out if you dispose of leaves yourself.
Check PBOT's leaf removal website for full details and to determine if you are in a leaf service zone and when your leaf day pick up is scheduled - zone boundaries have changed. You can also pay or opt out of the service online. Send any questions to leafday@portlandoregon.gov.
