Greetings Neighbors,
It's hard to believe that 2010 is almost over! Thanks to all the neighborhood volunteers whose hard work accomplished so much, and to the donors and sponsors who helped make this year a success. Now everybody take a well-deserved break! Check in with us if you will be needing to contact a particular staff member in the next few weeks, as some of us may be out of the office on winter vacation. Season's Spirit Fuels Neighborhood Food Drives
Kudos to all those who organized and contributed to the Sylvan-Highlands Neighborhood Association and NINA food drives. On December 8, SHNA hosted a food drive and special viewing of ZooLights, and along with the Arlington Neighborhood Association, collected 130 pounds of canned and packaged foods for the Oregon Food Bank, and delivered cookies to Blanchet House. Meanwhile, over a dozen Northwest Industrial Neighborhood businesses rolled out donation barrels to collect canned goods and other items for Northwest Portland Ministries. NINA also collected cash donations from businesses and individuals to purchase new backpacks for NWPM's Food for Kids Backpack Program. For information about the program and a partial list of sponsors, visit the NINA website.
