Crime Prevention Corner: Preventing Car Prowls
A friendly reminder from ONI Crime Prevention Coordinator, Frank
Silva, on preventing car prowls.
- Park near other
vehicles or in high pedestrian and vehicle traffic areas. Parking in an
isolated area is a welcome mat for
criminals.
- Park in a well-lit
area.
- Keep packages and
valuables out of sight in the trunk. This includes insurance and registration
information.
- Be certain your
windows are rolled completely up and your doors are locked.
- Criminals look
for easy targets. Before leaving your vehicle, take a second to check that your
car is not an easy target.
Looking for some support with crime prevention issues? For Downtown and Old Town Chinatown, contact Mike Boyer, 503.823.5852. For the remaining 10 NWNW neighborhoods, contact Frank Silva, 503.823.4257. |

Plan your Neighborhood Fall Clean Up!
Fall is just around the corner, and with it another
opportunity to give back to your community--fall clean ups. Consider planning a clean up today to collect
items dirtying the streets or gathering dust in your
storage. Neighborhood clean ups are a
great way to increase neighborhood visibility and livability. The best part about neighborhood clean ups is
that each of our neighborhoods has dedicated funds for this type of
project. If you have any questions about
the program or want to plan an event contact Alison Wallisch, 503.823.4265. Clean up resources are available online. |
