Greetings from Neighbors West-Northwest!  Scroll down to learn more about our coalition's current news and upcoming community events. We hope that you take the summer months to get involved with your neighborhood. 
First Annual Portland Downtown Yard Sale

Join your neighbors in the South Park Blocks for the first annual yard sale hosted by the Portland Downtown Neighborhood Association. Seventy 6' by 8' spaces are available to sellers for $20 each.  Four foot tables can be reserved for an additional $7.50.PDNA  

Registration is open at Umpqua Bank (1241 SW 10th Ave.) during business hours:  Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.  Site selection is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Date and Time:  Saturday, July 18th - Setup from 7 - 9 am, Sale from 9 am - 5 pm, Breakdown from 5 pm - 7 pm.
Location:  South Park Blocks between Clay & Market

Public Forum for Liquor Licensing Concerns

The city of Portland is hosting a public forum to answer your questions in the first of a series of outreach meetings co-partnered by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission and the City of Portland.  This is an opportunity to be heard and ask questions regarding what you and your city and state officials can do to ensure your livability and public safety concerns are addressed. 

Date and Time:  Monday, June 29th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Location:  Portland Building Auditorium (2nd Floor)
ODOT Open House:  I-405 Repaving

The Oregon Department of Transportation invites the community to attend an open house to learn more about the I-405 Preservation Project and related construction and traffic impacts.  Project team members will be available to answer any questions.

National Night Out on August 4th

Looking for a fun way to connect with your neighbors?  Consider hosting a National Night Out party.  National Night Out is an annual event celebrated across the United States and Canada that focuses on strengthening community and preventing crime. If you would like to host an official Portland National Night Out party, you must register with the City's Office of Neighborhood Involvement Crime Prevention program.  Parties held between July 28 and August 9 can be registered as official parties.

Get outside this summer and head to the Dragon Moon Festival, the premier festival celebrating Asian culture in the city of Portlan
d.  The Dragon Moon Festival features commercial vendor booths, food merchants, an Asian Beer & Sake Garden, and Arts & Crafts Pavilion.  Admission is free.

Summer Concerts in the Park

Summer is here and it's time to get outside and see a concert in the park!  The first concert in our coalition area will take place on July 9th in Wallace Park at 6:30 pm, featuring Marianna and the Baby Vamps.  Concerts will happen every Thursday in July at Wallace Park and continue in Couch Park the first two weeks in August.  Washington Park Concerts happen every day from August 2nd to August 15th.  For more information about concerts near you, click here
