NINA Food Drive Successful
NINA's Holiday Food Drive was a success! In total, over 3,000 pounds of food was donated during the holiday season, which was contributed to the Oregon Food Bank. Food barrels were placed at local businesses in the Northwest Industrial Neighborhood Association.
 NINA will again
be assisting the Oregon Food Bank by collecting donations at NINA's upcoming annual meeting on May 12th. For additional
information on NINA, please visit www.ninapdx.org.

An Introduction from our new Crime Prevention Coordinator
Hello Neighbors West, Northwest!
My name is Frank Silva and
I am the new Crime Prevention Coordinator for Northwest
Portland. This area includes, but is not limited to: Arlington Heights, Forest
Park, Goose Hollow, Hillside,
NWDA, NW Heights, NW Industrial, The Pearl District, and Sylvan-Highlands. I have a personal stake in being the Crime Prevention Coordinator for NW
Portland; I too am a resident of Goose Hollow. The
issues that affect you and your neighborhoods, directly relate to me as well. Moreover,
it is my position that crime never goes away, it just displaces. Thus, if crime
is happening in your neck of the woods, it invariably will affect the rest of
NW Portland. Communication between the NW
Portland neighborhoods and public safety entities is of utmost importance. And
that is where I come in!
A little about myself: my background and education are
varied. I have been involved in all aspects of the Criminal Justice system. From
corrections, to law enforcement and from the OLCC and to theory and research, I
have gained a far-reaching perspective on many Criminal Justice issues. Please feel free to contact anytime with any
of your concerns, or just to chat!
Respectfully,
Frank Silva
