Help us turn sad lives into happy lives!
Miracle Dog!
Gideon
Look at Gideon now! Your donations helped us save Gideon when he was critically injured. We could not have done it with out your help! As you can see, he has a wonderful life and a new family who adores him!

More heroes...
We see so many sad stories... stories of dogs treated in unimaginable ways. Dogs that, without us, would die.

Dogs like Spirit, who was dumped in a field and attacked by a pack of wild dogs.
Spirit

And Mallory, whose owner was an older gentleman with dementia who had to go into a care facility, and had to find homes for his five dogs.

Mallory

Wonder, who is blind and unwanted by many because of his handicap.  Please help us help them.  Your kindness does not go unnoticed, by us and by the many dogs whose lives you save.

At Coastal German Shepherd Rescue, we have seen so many sad, depressed, lonely and scared dogs this year.  Dogs respond to the smallest kindness by showing such loyalty & joy.   We're all about turning sad, painful lives into happy lives.  Kindness isn't always enough.  It often takes hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars to repair a broken spirit.  And we do that through your generous donations.

The Orange County chapter of Coastal GS Rescue will have placed more than 300 dogs in loving homes this year.  With all our success and our loyal donor base, we still find ourselves facing an uncertain future.   So many of our orphans are not in good health due to their shelter stay and the stress that they are put under.  In the last three weeks alone, we have dealt with the deadly parvo virus (in three puppies who are thriving today), two cases of pneumonia (both well on the mend), a puppy with head trauma (we ultimately lost her) - these costs alone exceeded $8,000 in medical expenses.

Each month we incur expenses between $20,000 - $30,000 in order to provide boarding, food, and veterinary care.  There is no paid staff, we are truly an all volunteer organization.  As you determine your charitable giving as the year draws to a close, we hope that you will consider Coastal to be your charity of choice.

Because of  YOU, our generous donors and adopters, a difference has been made in the lives of so many; here are just a few of those that have been touched by the kindness of our supporters...........

Meet Tonka!Tonka
Tonka is now a gorgeous 110-pound beauty, but he didn't come to us that way. While we don't know who purchased him as a puppy, we do know he spent the first two years of his life in agony because of extensive ear infections. When he entered our program, he was so neglected that his eardrums were ruptured and his terrible ear infection wouldn't even allow him to hold up his ears.

After a simple culture to determine the right antibiotics and two months of constant medication and cleaning Tonka's ears were good as new. He's since found a fabulous permanent home with a young boy who is now his constant companion.
The lovely Brea.....BreaWhen we first met Brea, we thought she was much older than the five years stated on her paperwork. In addition to her gnawed-off ears, her coat had never been cared for, so she had clumps of hair hanging off her sides and haunches. After a thorough medical exam and a loving bath, Brea perked up pretty quickly and happily went to live at her foster home. She loved being "momma" to the foster pups!

Being all clean and pretty brought out the puppy in Brea. She comes running at the sound of water and loves to play in the hose spray. She's now found the perfect home after waiting so patiently for several months she doesn't chew things, she doesn't have accidents, and she's grateful for the smallest of kindnesses. She wags her tail wildly when you talk to her, and she soaks up love like a sponge, without being needy.

EttaEtta was a different case... no ear issues, but she was so skinny when she arrived that we could count the bones in her spine.

We couldn't even be sure how old Etta was, since her teeth were worn down by gnawing on something like rock or chain link. Etta's horrible condition may have been caused by the economic times we're living in; she wasn't picked up as a stray, her owner turned her into the shelter in this shape.

Etta wasn't always so under-loved and unappreciated. At some point someone cared enough about her to teach her the basic commands. Etta eagerly performs SIT, SHAKE, DOWN, and SPEAK. Some good food and a soft bed have done wonders for Etta. She is as sweet as they come, and is always grateful for every ounce of affection bestowed on her
These are just a few of the lives you've helped make happy over the past year. And unfortunately, we know there will be countless animals to help in the coming year.

We need you desperately in order to continue to offer food, shelter and, most importantly, LOVE to the helpless dogs that will undoubtedly come our way this year. They have nowhere else to turn. And just as they turn to us, we turn to you. Won't you help?

Please consider helping the dogs at Coastal GS Rescue.  They deserve a second chance, and you can ensure they get it.

Thank you in advance for your generous gift.   No amount is too small.

All of us at Coastal GS Rescue wish you all the happiness of the season! May you have the joy of family, the happiness of friends and the love of the season.
