Opening: Just Animals @ ASU Art Museum
The word "animal" evokes many impressions; everything from friendly pets, like dogs and cats, to wild creatures like bears and elephants. The word brings to mind images, sounds, and events. Maybe it is a little humor, as in Walton Ford's reflection on Audubon's nature studies in his print "Nila," or a more serious commentary on our ecological destruction, as in our Oscar Oiwa's monoprint "Pooch."

This breathtaking new production of SOUTH PACIFIC is based on the 2008 TonyŽ: Award Lincoln Center Theater production, directed by Bartlett Sher. Set on a tropical island during World War II, the musical tells the sweeping romantic story of two couples and how their happiness is threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices.

Bully Mammoth @ Tempe Center for the Arts
Bully Mammoth is Phoenix's best and only sketch comedy group. Unhappy with the local comedy scene, the members of Bully Mammoth decided to mix things up with their brand of 95% scripted comedy. Members concentrate on scene work and are influenced by everything from Elvis to David Lynch.

Opening: Miracle Report: Julianne Swartz and Ken Landauer, Social Studies 8 @ ASU Art Museum
Swartz and Landauer will interview local residents and ask each to describe a miracle he or she has experienced. The recordings will be edited into fleeting and lyrical vignettes attempting to establish "the miraculous" through many entirely subjective perspectives. The installation will strive to embody "some beauty, some hocus-pocus, and some unexplainable magic."
Walk for Values @ Tempe Arts Park
Unlike other walks, this is not a money-raiser. Rather, you will make the world richer by giving your commitment to practice values, and character-building.
