Tempe Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge to open in September

You might have noticed the new bridge recently placed just at the west end of Tempe Town Lake. The eye catching criss-crossed support beams create a complimentary aesthetic to the Tempe Center for the Arts as well as Hayden Butte and the buildings along the lake. However this pedestrian bridge serves more purposes than just beauty.
The Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge is a new pathway for walkers, runners, and bicyclists to connect to the north shore of the lake and to the Indian Bend Wash trail. Users will now have an easier route without the hassle of dealing with traffic at the Priest Dr. overpass. The bridge also offers breathtaking views of Tempe Town Lake, Papago Buttes, Downtown Tempe, and more
An additional function of the bridge is to provide shade to the lakes damn, working to prevent any sun damage to the rubber bladders.
Information about this process is being updated at www.tempe.gov/lake.
Visit millavenue.com for details on the upcoming bridge opening.
