Credit Card Swipe on Trial
For Parking Meters on Mill Ave

Parking meters on Mill are now Credit Friendly

Fumbling in your cup holder for loose change will be a thing of the past as Downtown Tempe has launched a trial program offering a credit card swipe mechanism on parking meters along Mill Avenue. The minimum charge to utilize the credit card swipe feature is  $1.50 which allows for 1 hour of parking time and $2 allows for 1 hour 20 minutes which is the current parking time limit.

In addition to the credit card payment feature, there are many benefits to the new parking meters which are solar powered to eliminate battery usage. The meters will be functioning on a trial basis for the next 90 days to determine popularity and if the trial proves successful, expansion of the meters to other locations throughout Mill Avenue District will be implemented. Those who use the meters during the trial period and wish to offer feedback are encouraged to contact Adam Jones at Downtown Tempe Community at 480-355-6060

"Getting Sara Married"
Tempe Live! Theatre presents "Getting Sara Married"
Getting Sara Married

Tempe Live! Theatre is Tempe's only non-profit, all volunteer theatrical production company, TLT is "theater of, for, and by the community." It was founded by people who love live theater in order to offer the community a low-cost, alternative cultural venue for education and entertainment.

TLT has traditionally produced four plays each year - one representing each genre - drama, comedy, musical and mystery. Over the last few years, the focus has been on classic comedies and popular musicals in order to build an audience base. TLT serves to deliver the excitement of affordable, quality live theater to all residents of the East Valley and the metropolitan Phoenix Area.

TLT's Spring production is called "Getting Sara Married"  featuring Sara Hastings, an unmarried lawyer in her mid-thirties, much too busy to get involved in any romance. Her nosy Aunt Martha has decided to take matters into her own hands and find Sara a 'good' husband.

Girls' Night Out Fashion Show

If you made it out for Third Thursday you may have seen models strutting their stuff with paparazzi flash bulbs lighting up the streets. It was a great night on Mill Ave. with one of the models even sporting a candy dress and posing with eager fans.

There was candy apples, psychic readings, and even a hilarious bride milling around with prize giveaways.

The next Third Thursday is May 19, then we will take a short break until the Fall.

If you haven't checked out Third Thursday yet - it's worth a look.
