Simply Salvage:
Exquisitely Sustainable Construction

Clothing Matters' site has been home to the intriguing craftsmanship of ArtPrize participant Brent Ahmicasaube, working tirelessly on the other side of our north wall for several months. Using all reclaimed/otherwise land-filled materials, "Simply Salvage" takes the form of an inviting, livable structure that demonstrates unique creative problem solving & critical thinking to celebrate sustainability with exquisite charm.

Watching this amazing project take shape has been impressive and inspirational for all who appreciate the extent to which aesthetics, integrity, and function can be combined to create greater value.  Brent's talent has developed over a decade of work restoring historic homes & commercial buildings through his business, Heritage Craftsmen.

Stop by to see "Simply Salvage" here until Sept 20 when it will be moved to Douglas J Aveda Institute on Commerce Ave for ArtPrize, where you can cast a vote or inquire about having Brent/Heritage Craftsmen build one for you; they're taking orders!

Friends & family of Clothing Matters customers visiting from NYC

Completely clad in their own selections from our collection are these visitors from NYC--friends and family of some favorite long time customers. Here are their reviews, also seen on our facebook:

"...when I tried on these shirts, I felt like an entirely different person. The soft, natural feel of the fabric felt so refreshing and made me feel as if I had a new layer of skin. It just felt right." -Eric age 15

"Nothing I've ever worn felt as comfortable as the bamboo shirts at Clothing Matters...silky smooth, flowed like water...fit perfectly. The hemp sweater was extremely versatile--easy to wear, very comfy, nice and warm. The recycled backpack was very light and easy to carry...pants were much less stuffy than other long pants I've worn. ...these clothes were like no other." -Keon age 15

"Having never worn sustainable clothing of any kind I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderfully comfortable the clothes at Clothing Matters are. My two friends & I came in to try on some of the stuff in the store, and let me just say that for three teenagers with completely different styles we were able to find something for all of us which was such a nice thing." -Julian age 15
