Easter hams
Easter ham

Both stores will carry the Delaware Co. Spiral Hams for your Easter enjoyment. They will average 7 to 9 pounds. If you want a larger ham, let us know right away so it can be ordered. Delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6, and the week before Easter.

Sample local meat

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, Moo Roo will be sampling several local meats (grass-fed and corn-fed) and other products from our local vendors. Stop in to see what we have to offer and ask questions.

Cow of the Month

April's Cow of the Month is Angel. She is 3 years old and has delivered two calves, both females, named Allene and Angora. Angel is a great cow to work with. She is very friendly and loves to lick you.

Angel actually has one deformed foot, which causes her to walk slowly. That hoof needs to be trimmed (just like trimming your toenails) more frequently than normal. But considering her foot issues, she produces a good amount of milk. Last year she produced 23,470 pounds, and today she is averaging 110 pounds of milk per day - that's almost 13 gallons for your table. She knows how to pay the bills!

Did you know? It takes 25 gallons of milk to make 9 gallons of ice cream.

Expanding to Cedar Rapids market

Attention Cedar Rapids area customers: There is a possibility of getting our milk/products to some retail stores in Cedar Rapids. We'd like to hear suggestions on where. Can you help? Let us know as soon as possible by e-mailing [email protected].

Final Four frenzy

Good luck to those of you with teams still in your NCAA bracket. If you're having a viewing party, remember to get all your snacks at Moo Roo or the Outlet!
