Cow of the Month

Brite
April's Cow of the Month is Brite. She milked 120
pounds on test day, the most out of any cow in the
150-cow herd. She is 7 years old, and she has had
five calves: two heifers and three bulls. Brite is a
trouble-free cow and she always wants to be the first
into the milking parlor. She has great mobility for her
age and minds her own business. As you can see
from her picture, she has outlived her name tags - now
that's a real sign of longevity! When Brite was 4 years
old, she milked for 365 days and produced 32,725
pounds - that's 3,805 gallons.

Fresh Cream Cheese
Take our plain Sugar River yogurt, place it in a filter to
drain overnight, while refrigerated. The next day you will
have the best cream cheese. ~A tip from a valued
customer, Mary Gotera~
Poduct Freshness
As a general rule, freezing of dairy products is not
recommended. This topic will be discussed further
this fall. Now that spring is finally around the corner,
along with warm weather, remember to keep your
dairy products cool during transport and keep in
refrigeration as much as possible.
