Travel Tip
DIVING IN THE DEAD SEA
From Israel21c

Avraham Bresler gets a rush out of diving in extreme locations. The first time he dove in the Dead Sea, he was being paid to clean out an underground pipe. Today, he runs guided extreme diving tours in the Dead Sea, which most would unsay is unfit for divers.

"The water is warm but it's as if you're in the Antarctic. Everything is white; it looks like you're diving in ice. The water glitters because of all the salt. It really is another world," Bresler stated.

The Dead Sea has a salinity level of 35 percent. Divers are required to wear full face masks and carry approximately 100 lbs. of weight. Because of the extreme conditions, only seasoned divers are allowed on this tour. Divers must have logged at least 50 dives in order to qualify for the Dead Sea plunge.

Though Bresler has dove hundreds of times in some of the world's most beautiful diving spots, he believes that the Dead Sea "is among the most magical diving destinations on the planet."
