As I made plans to celebrate our country's freedom and independence this holiday weekend, I began to think about these concepts and how they relate to yoga.
How many times have you wanted freedom from your thoughts? How often have you hoped to act independently of your emotions?
These ideals of freedom and independence are qualities that many of us crave in our own personal lives. As much as we may try to control and resist our thoughts and emotions, more than likely they end up controlling and binding us!
Then what can we do to help us in this personal struggle for freedom and independence from our own thoughts and emotions?
To start, there's one simple practice you can begin right away... BREATHE DEEPLY!
