I recently read this in my latest Yoga Journal and immediately thought, "What a great way to describe the all-inclusive nature of yoga!"

The author of the article goes on to explain one of the fundamental lessons of yoga:  no matter what kind of activity (or non-activity) you did before; no matter your age; no matter your culture, your gender, your anything!....

Once we make the choice to do yoga, it will meet us and serve us right where we are, for as long as we choose to do it.  Our reasons to learn and continue practicing yoga can be very specific, very unique to us. 

If we want to learn how to relax the mind, yoga will meet us there...

If we want to improve our physical posture, stamina and strength, yoga will meet us there...

If we want to connect with our own deep wisdom and spirit, yoga will meet us there...

The beauty of the yogic tradition is in its ability to be universal and undiscriminating in its scope, yet so specific and unique in its practice.

So the question you want to ask yourself is... "Where do you want yoga to meet you?"
