Greetings!
Summer is winding down and it's almost time for the kids to head back to school. As I see parents perusing the stores for those "back to school" specials, I am reminded of that Staples ad from a few years back (or perhaps it was more than a few years?)
Do you remember this one? --- a couple is joyously celebrating the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" as this Christmas melody plays in the background. Of course, the punch line is that it isn't Christmas time at all, it's back-to-school time!
Believe it or not, there's a lesson to be learned in this comical advertisement. I admit the thought of shorter days and cooler temperatures can bring on some sadness and even resistance (I know I try to wear my sandals for as long as I can!)
But the end of the summer season can also be seen as the time when you - the individual - has the chance to focus a bit more on himself/herself (hence the celebrating couple in the ad.)
As Mother Nature changes seasons, we are reminded that we too can follow her lead and introduce a needed change or something new into our lives.
See, there is always a bright side! It simply takes a shift in perspective.
So to help keep you focused on the "bright side", I've been busy setting up some wonderful courses/workshops for you. Think of these as opportunities to commit to some "me" time this fall. :)

I've created this 4-part course so you can take the classes as a package or individually*. As a package, the 4-week program is designed to teach you foundational yoga skills and give you the confidence to continue your own personal yoga practice.
Taken as individual classes, the program allows you to hone particular areas of an existing yoga practice or learn poses to help a specific need even if you do not have previous yoga experience. (*NOTE: The first class is a prerequisite to the other classes unless you have previously taken "Fundamentals- Level 1" or "Yoga Demystified!" classes.)
Part 1: Key Concepts - Yogic Intention, Breathing & 'Body Geometry' Part 2: Upper Body - Neck, Shoulders & Arms Part 3: Lower Body - Lower Back, Hips & Legs Part 4: Strengthening & Balancing

Whether you have never done yoga before or just would like to re-visit the fundamentals, this is a GREAT course to prepare you for an on-going personal practice!
In this 4-week program, we will:
- Focus on key yoga concepts of awareness, acceptance & honoring the body
- Practice harnessing the power & energy of your breath through pranayama
- Learn proper body alignment & fine-tune yoga poses to suit YOUR body-type
- Learn basic meditation techniques to calm and bring focus to the mind
- Enjoy an intimate setting with small class size for personalized attention
