Greetings!
GPhC number causes problems with Boots payment systems

Boots have been in contact to say that the the split up of the RPSGB has inadvertently caused them problems with their payment system.

The system identifies locums via their RPSGB number to ensure that all locums are registered pharmacists. However, membership of the RPS no longer guarantees professional registration, it's GPhC registration that does that.

Therefore Boots need to gather in GPhC numbers from all locums who work for them, and as most locums work for them at some time, this is a big job.

Therefore we suggest that you do one of two things:

  • If you make your Boots bookings via an agency, contact the and they will collate all the information and forward to your locum Boots coordinator (preferred method)
  • If you book direct, contact your locum coordinator via email of phone with your old RPSGB number and new GPhC number.

This is likely to cause some delay in payments but rest- assured, Boots are trying to resolve the issue ASAP.

Sincerely,
