And, if you're expecting, check out what we have for you!

The Signature Surgery Experienc
e

With more than 600,000 women having hysterectomy surgery each year, it is the most common non-obstetrical women's surgery in the United States. While the procedure itself is common, there are now multiple ways in which hysterectomy can be performed, including minimally-invasive surgery.

The new minimally-invasive options, including state-of-the-art robotic technology, only require an overnight hospital stay and can reduce scar size to small or even barely noticeable!

If you're planning to have a hysterectomy, ask your doctor about the Signature Surgery Experience at St. Francis. This new program seeks to ensure women have an excellent surgical experience before, during and after surgery. This new experience offers pre-surgical education and a streamlined registration and pre-assessment process. This ensures that when you arrive the day-of, you're able to go directly to your room and settle in.

Our Signature Surgery patients stay in customized rooms full of extra amenities, including a mini-fridge, alarm clock with iPod dock, and flat screen television. Additionally, there is the benefit of a dedicated and experienced nursing staff -- all who are specially trained in caring for women who have had a hysterectomy. Strong Women, Strong Bones

Osteoporosis is a disease affecting millions of Americans, the majority of whom are women. While osteoporosis is usually associated with post-menopausal women, plenty can be done earlier in life to lay the foundation for healthy bones. Women build bone mass until around age 30, at which point bone mass peaks. From then on, bone density gradually decreases until menopause, when it can decrease more quickly.

St. Francis now offers a Bone Health Program with two tracks - one that helps those with osteoporosis build bone mass and prevent fractures, and one that helps maintain current bone density to prevent osteoporosis.

To learn more about this program and what you can do to prevent osteoporosis, visit us online.
