Railroad Park is redefining Birmingham!
Railroad Park

Railroad Park is a downtown oasis separating the city center from the southside of Birmingham.

Illustrated by Bob Moody, 2011

If you haven't yet visited Railroad Park, you're in for a treat.  A true city oasis - since its opening it's been filled with families, students, and tourists - all enjoying Birmingham's Central Park.

But the next big step is yet to come!  We hope everyone is now aware of the  Prize 2 the Future  competition.  The stakes are high as are the prizes!  This property adjoins the end of Railroad Park and is key to the further development of the downtown area.  Open to anyone over the age of 18, ideas are encouraged.  Register and enter!  This is your chance to guide the future development of Birmingham!  And you may just win the grand prize of $50,000...

We've certainly been busy preparing our entry for what is now called Birmingham's "Next Big Thing".  We believe that the redevelopment of this critical piece of property will be a true game-changer for Birmingham.  And often a picture IS worth a thousand words!  We don't say that lightly....We've been there before (and here's the story!)   But this time it FEELS different.  There's an excitement in the air!  There are lots of young people actively involved in civic activities downtown.  There is a wide variety of attractive places to live downtown.  And merchants are following residents to provide services and amenities for the new downtown residents.  Railroad Park is just one very large example of a revitalized downtown.

So visit Railroad Park  if you haven't already!  Follow the  Prize 2 the Future competition or better yet, enter it!!  It will surely be the Next Big Thing!
