Get Your Boxes In This Week!
This Sunday, November 20, is the last day to return your filled Operation Christmas Child boxes. They may also be returned to the church during the business day (8 am-5 pm) from now until Friday or during Wednesday night activities. If you were unable to pick up a OCC box from the church you may use a regular shoe box or a plastic shoe-box size container. Some people even cover shoe boxes in wrapping paper. Please don't completely enclose a box, as they will be inspected before delivery to the children. Also, don't let the $7 shipping cost prevent you from bringing the joy of Christmas to a child around the world. There are funds available to cover that cost. This Friday Night Will Be a BLAST for 3rd & 4th Graders! There's still time to register your Third or Fourth Grader for Bible Blast! This is one event your child won't want to miss! Register your child now. Details regarding the event and what to bring can be found on the KidVenture Events web page. Please direct all questions to KidVenture@ConnectWithCalvary.org Parents, you may want to consider attending the first session, Bible 101, with your child. This session will begin at 7:30 pm and promises to be engaging and informative. You may also consider helping with activities or snacks. We are in particular need of dads or other male KidVenture leaders to stay overnight as chaperones for our boys! Please let us know your availability. Those staying the night can arrive later in the evening if that helps with family scheduling. Attention 5th Grade Parents! Calvary Student Ministries (CSM) will hold an informational meeting regarding 2012 Junior High summer trip possibilities. Join us Wednesday, November 16 at 6:15 pm in Room 111 for an informational meeting to discuss trip options for the Junior High 2012 Summer Trip. All students and their parents in grades 5-7 are welcome to attend. Children's Choir To Sing This Sunday This Sunday, November 20, the Children's Choir will join the adult choir and the third service band for an inspiring song during the 9 and 10:30 am worship services. Choir members will receive details regarding logistics for Sunday at their normal rehearsal this week. If your child is unable to attend this week's rehearsal, please contact Mary.Harsh@ConnectWithCalvary.org to obtain those details, as they are quite different than what we've done in the past. Thanksgiving Week Schedule All normal Calvary activities are cancelled for next Wednesday, November 23, so that families may use that time to prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday. This cancellation includes KidVenture, Mission Kids, and Children's Choir, as well as Student Ministries activities, Adult Choir, and many other activities that typically take place at Calvary on Wednesday nights. All normal KidVenture Wednesday programming will resume on Wednesday, November 30. We wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving holiday! |
