Preschool Connection

Lil'K LogoKidVenture Preschoolers learned how to be BIG helpers. They listened to the story about a man who was a BIG helper, the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37). The Samaritan saw someone who needed help, and he helped him.

Remember Verse:

I can do all things through Christ, because He gives me strength - Phillipians 4:13 (For preschoolers, the Remember Verse remains the same during each 5-week curriculum cycle)

  • Even though you're small, you can do BIG things with God's help!
  • BIG helpers say, "I can help," and then help!.

KidVenture students in grades K-3 continued their theme of being world changers by obeying God. Enemies are those that distract us from obeying God. Abraham trusted and obeyed God (Genesis 18:9-15). Trusting God means we believe God is at work in our lives even before we see any proof.

People can be a distraction from trusting and obeying God. Some put doubts in our heads and distract us from obeying God. Don't let others distract you from trusting and obeying God.

Memory Max Verse:
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. - Hebrews 11:1

Compass Point:
Take action against distraction!

Fourth-Fifth Grade Connection

This week, Grapple Logoour Grapple students (fourth and fifth graders) continued their study called Why Can't We All Just Get Along? and their theme of the week was the same title.

God thinks a family living together in harmony is a wonderful thing. Obviously, it would be a wonderful thing if families always got along, but the truth is families don't always get along. Parents sometimes fight, but that doesn't mean they will divorce. Siblings argue constantly, but they still love one another. As children become teenagers, they fight with their parents a lot. There will always be times that family members don't get along.

Through the story of Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-12) the kids Grappled with relationship issues. They also looked at ways to remind them to try to get along.

Key Faith Foundation:
God's Plan for Handling Family Conflict

Key Scriptures:
Genesis 4:1-12; Psalm 133; Colossians 3:12

MyGrapple:
Take some time to sit with your fourth and fifth graders at the computer this week (remind them to have their login information handy). You will find the MyGrapple site at www.mygrapple.com. On the Home Page they will see the Grapple Clues, a challenge and other helpful information designed to keep them thinking about their lesson from Sunday and also prepare them for next week. Take some time to look at "My Class" and have a look at how they can communicate with one another through the "Let's Talk" link.

If your student has any issues with logging on, please contact kidventure@connectwithcalvary.org.
