 Hi Calvary Friends!
Hopefully you received my note on Monday about my family's future plans. With mixed emotions, I share God's direction for me to begin a new position at First United Presbyterian Church in Le Roy. While I am excited to return to my old church and position as Youth Director, I am very sad to leave you as my church family! My family and I will miss you all dearly and hope to stay connected in our friendships and through the body of Christ!
I want to say a huge thank you for the many emails you all have sent me! These kind words have touched my heart immensely! I am grateful for each of you and ask God's blessings to be with you!

Are you being a FaithWeaver this week? Try this fun faith-growing activity with your child: purchase a packet of garden seeds. Take some time to properly plant and water the seeds. Share with your child how God takes care of everything, including providing the water and sun needed to make the plants grow.

Sign-up now to be a KidVenture Leader this summer or fall. Summer leader sign-up is available here: volunteer online sign-up. Sign-up for Summer and Fall is also available in the Atrium or by email kidventure@connectwithcalvary.org. Leaders are needed for one or several weeks during the summer months and also for next school year. For the school year, leaders work in teams which allows schedule flexibility; most leaders teach 2 weeks per month. All supplies are provided, so all we need is YOU!

Journals and Prayer Cards
The KidVenture Wednesday night journals provided each child an opportunity to reflect and respond to the Key Bible verse each week. The journal is really a record of ways your child was growing throughout the year. If you haven't had an opportunity to pick up your child's journal, please pick them up from the table on the Lower Level. We sent these home the last Wednesday night that we had a regular session but there were several journals left in the grade-level boxes. As a special gift for you, please pick up a set of Prayer Cards for your family. These are located on the same table as the journals.

VBS Volunteer Meeting
The VBS volunteer meeting is set for this Sunday, May 22 at 10:05 am in Room 111. We will have breakout sessions for each volunteer group. If you cannot attend this meeting, please let us know.
If you have registered to be a VBS Volunteer, you hopefully received an email earlier today regarding your volunteer placement for the VBS week. If you did not receive the email, please contact KidVenture leaders, kidventure@connectwithcalvary.org.
VBS is June 13-16 from 6-8 pm. We are asking our volunteers to please look ahead at your schedule and email us immediately if you cannot attend all four nights so we can make arrangements.
Please see below for Child Protection information. We require all volunteers working with children and/or youth to complete this training every five years. If you have not completed Calvary UMC's Child Protection Training in the past 5 years, please plan to attend one of these sessions. If you are unable to attend any of these sessions, please contact kidventure@connectwithcalvary.org to make arrangements for a different training time.

Vacation Bible School Registration Registration for VBS is still open! Our theme for this year is Growing God's Word in Your Heart and will run June 13-16, 6:15-8 pm each evening. Please click here to register, including secure online payment. Volunteers may also click the registration button to sign up to help. Register your children ages 4 by September 1, 2011 up through entering 5th grade in the Fall of 2011. A donation of $5 per child, requested at the time of registration, helps to cover snacks, supplies and crafts. There are many volunteer opportunities for the week of VBS. Please check out the registration form and sign-up to serve God's children as we connect with God, one another and our world. Contact: kidventure@connectwithcalvary.org. Child Protection TrainingChild Protection Training will be held on the following days: - May 22 immediately following VBS Volunteer Training (approximately 10:45 am in Room L6)
- June 5 at 10:05 in Room 111
- June 8 at 6:30 pm in Room 111
All leaders working with children and/or youth at Calvary need to complete this training. If you have not completed this training within the past 5 years, please plan to attend one of these classes. Classes last approximately one hour and also include a background check. Please bring a form of identification and phone numbers of references. KidVenture offering for April, May and June will bless our neighbors at Safe Harbor. Please consider bringing an offering to bless this ministry in downtown Bloomington which serves to feed, house and educate those transitioning through a homeless period of their lives.
