Here are simple ways our Calvary families are weaving faith into their child's lives:

One thing we do is read a story from our Children's Bible over breakfast. It has 365 stories for each day of the year. We also pray together as a family about our days before we leave for school/work.
(Jan, mother of two) I don't have a KidVenture aged child, but I do take every opportunity I have to remind my daughter that God gives us domestic cats for a reason -- for companionship, joy and fun, unquestioned love, a soft warm body to hold when we are lonely.... she smiles when I fall into these words, as I repeat them often. |

Mornings with Moms
Mornings with Moms will meet in the Parlor on Friday, February 4 to share a video "The ABCs of a Healthy Marriage." Childcare will be provided in the nursery, Room 109.
Oh Say Can You Sing Choir, IWU Game

Family Movie Night
Bring your blanket and popcorn bowls and come "Connect with One Another" while we watch the Disney-Pixar movie, "Up" on Friday, February 18 at 6:30pm. Bring friends and enjoy this movie full of dreams, plans and talents as we conclude the STRIDE series. Never Mind the Joneses, Raising Christian Kids Your Way Join us for this one-day parenting conference equipping parents to be the primary faith shapers in their kids' lives. This event will take place on Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 9am - 4pm at Second Presbyterian Church. The cost is $15 and includes lunch. KidVenture Valentine's Party--Wednesday, February 9
Children in preschool through 3rd grade are invited to join KidVenture Wednesday, February 9 from 6:30-7:30 pm for a Valentine's party. This special time will be filled with music, games and a special snack.
Missions Kids at Evergreen
All kids in fourth and fifth grades are encouraged to join the fun as they head to Evergreen Village for our Mission Kids activity on Wednesday, February 9 at 6:30 pm. The kids will enjoy playing Bingo with the residents and having cookies. VERY IMPORTANT: Please drop-off and pick-up kids at Evergreen Village.
Parents, we are asking for donations of small items for prizes - hard candy, mints, hand lotion, crossword puzzles etc. to give away for the winners. If each child brings 1-2 items, that should be plenty as we will probably have around 20 participants in Bingo. Thank you for your support! |
