April 21, 2010
Greetings!
Randy Perry

This past Sunday Jim Brown, Chair of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee at Calvary, announced our new associate pastor will be Rev. Grant Armstrong.

Grant has been serving as the Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Pontiac for the past three years.  While in seminary, Grant served part time on the staff of Christ United Methodist Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois, a large and growing congregation similar to Calvary.  He completed his seminary education at Eden Theological Seminary in Webster Groves, Missouri, in 2007. Our Conference and church leadership believe that the skills and gifts demonstrated by Grant will fit well here at Calvary.

Grant was born and reared in Bloomington, and is a graduate of Illinois State University.  He and his wife, Amy, whose professional background is in the education of the deaf and hard of hearing, have two preschool daughters, Lily and Clara.  Grant and his family will join the Calvary family on July 1. Grant is the son of Don and Grethe Armstrong and Amy is the daughter of Jim Swearingen.

In the coming weeks  watch your mailbox and the Calvary website for more about Pastor Grant and his family.

Sincerely,

Rev. Dr. Randall K. Perry (bio)
