Greetings!
We are experiencing an incredible season of Eastertide at Calvary! The services on Easter Sunday were a wonderful witness to God's power of resurrection! The worshippers, weather, décor, music...everything seemed to affirm the victory of the day. The spirit of the season continued this past Sunday as our Celebration Singers and Instrumentalists led our worship through an Easter cantata entitled, At the Ninth Hour. It was an outstanding musical witness of the passion and resurrection story. We are grateful to our director, Deb Foley and to all of our vocalists, musicians, and presenters.
This Sunday we will begin a special sermon series entitled, Teach Us to Pray. It will focus on the struggles and challenges many of us have with prayer. There are times when we are unsure about the words we use, or if God is really listening. Amidst our feelings of inadequacy, we feel like the disciples when they said to Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray..." This series will carefully consider Jesus' first words of instruction on prayer, the example he gave, and its meaning for our lives today.
I'd like to invite you to join us for this sermon series on the topic of prayer. Let's worship, learn, and grow spiritually together. Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Randall K. Perry ( bio) Directing Pastor |

In June 1978, ground was broken on a new fellowship hall, nursery and office wing at Calvary's old location at 814 Jersey Avenue. The new fellowship hall offered increased space for adult education and youth activities. One year later in August 1979, the Fellowship Hall began to be used for worship services during the summer months because it offered something the Sanctuary did not-air conditioning. |
