Greetings!
A couple of weeks ago the Kiwanis Club of Normal, of which I am a member, held a meeting at The Baby Fold's Residential Treatment Center. As we listened to the staff of The Baby Fold share with us stories of the lives they are touching I was impressed. The work they are doing to make a difference for struggling children and youth should be applauded. I was driving to work after the meeting had concluded and began to think more about The Baby Fold and our connection to them as United Methodists. The Baby Fold is one of ten Health & Wellness ministries that our area of the United Methodist Church helps to support. Through financial giving, prayers and hard work of people, these ten ministries are making a difference in the lives of individuals. From the Quad Cities to Cairo, and Kankakee to East St. Louis, our United Methodist congregations are contacted together for one purpose - making disciples for Jesus Christ. We are not just one church, we are part of a huge family that works together and supports one another to help make facilities and services like The Baby Fold a reality. Next time you are at Calvary for a meeting, worship or social activity - remember we are one part of a worldwide movement of 12 million people dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. When you stop and think about it that is pretty neat. In His Service
