Gwen Bailey-Harbour
, Senior Vice President of Sales at Alfred Music Publishing and associate member at large on the RPMDA board of Directors, passed away on Thursday, August 11th after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Rod, and two sons, Ethan, 12, and Sean,8.

Gwen was known not only for her intelligence, leadership and business skills, but also for a friendly, sunny outlook that never faltered, even in the face of grave illness. She often went back into the office after chemotherapy treatments, and as recently as April was a presenter at the 2011 RPMDA convention, hitting it out of the park with a great session on leading successful meetings. One convention attendee said, after being in her audience, that Gwen's ideas had changed the way she was going to run her own business when she got home.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 17th at 3 PM Pacific Standard Time at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Thousand Oaks, California. For details about the service and how to make donations to trust funds set up for her sons' future college expenses and the Gwen Bailey Harbour Memorial Fund to assist her family with immediate financial obligations, visit www.alfred.com/GwenBaileyHarbour, or contact office@printmusic.org.

Gwen was the kind of person who positively affected the lives of everyone around her. She was a mentor and example to others, and generously shared of her time and herself. She will be missed and remembered with the deepest affection, and RPMDA's collective and heartfelt sympathies go out to her family, friends and colleagues at Alfred Music Publishing.
