Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, is this Sunday, April 11Yeloow Star - Jude

Following on the heels of Pesach, the joyous holiday of remembering and celebrating freedom, is a day of remembering and commemorating a tragic time in our history when freedom, and life itself, was taken away from the Jewish people and many others.

Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, is this Sunday, with programs and memorial observances taking place in the community throughout the coming week.

In Memory's Kitchen

Two wonderful recipes from the book "In Memory's Kitchen: A Legacy from the Women of Terezin."  Even during the worst of times, these women were able to sustain their faith, in part by remembering the good times with family and food.  Honor their lives by making one of these dishes:
  • Omelet with Apples - a few ingredients go a long way
  • Vanilla Cake - delicious plain, or easily turned into an elegant hazelnut-apricot torte
