Headed to Paris May 31!

Canary islandsHey Everybody!
Wherever you are in the world, we trust that you are doing well and enjoying the blessings of God.

What We've Been Up To...
Jeff returned to Europe February 19-April 7 to join the Bridge team in preparing for the March 14 launch of the church. During that time, Jeff attended a team retreat, hosted a missions team from Calvary Baptist in Shreveport, and led worship at The Bridge on Sundays. See below for more information about Jeff's trip.

Headed Back
May 31...
Jeff, Kathy & Nick head back to Europe May 31. We'll work on our legal status in Europe, speak at our former church, Christian Center in Brussels on June 6 and head down to Paris on June 12 to join the Bridge team for a summer full of services, life groups, hosting missions teams and other ministry activities.

We have so enjoyed our time in the USA this year, visiting supporting churches, seeing many of our supporters and spending time with family and friends. It has been a special year filled with great memories. We are refreshed and ready to return to the mission field.

Well, we hope you enjoy catching up with us below. You can let us know how you are by writing to: JeffKathyS@hotmail.com.

With a heart for the nations,
Jeff & Kathy

The Bridge International Church Launches

The Bridge International Church is officially launched! After seven months of meeting as a core group, and growing from a handful to an average of 57 from 10 nations, The Bridge services are now open to the public.

Our Services: We're currently meeting in a hotel just outside of Paris in a town called Rueil-Malmaison (see photo of our meeting room below). Services consist of worship, announcements, offering Canary islandsand a message - all in 75 minutes or less. Afterwards we have a coffee and croissant fellowship which gives us time to welcome guests and get to know each other.

Our Future Building: Because we meet in a hotel, we bring everything with us (sound equipment, nursery supplies, etc.) and take it back after the service. This makes Sunday morning services a five-hour event. We're already looking forward to getting into our own building. Hopefully, negotiations will wrap up soon and we'll be able to start renovations on a building in St. Germain-en-Laye, just west of Paris.

Our Delight: We've had our first salvation at The Bridge: a university student, who has attended for several months, gave her heart to the Lord recently. She was invited to The Bridge by a church member who met the young lady at work, where she interns. A divine connection...that's what the Bridge is all about!

BEWI Delft
A Calvary missions team taught at our 3rd European Worship Institute in The Netherlands, this time in the quaint city of Delft. More than 50 worship leaders and team members attended the full-day event.

Calvary Team Ministers in Three Countries
A mission team from Calvary Baptist in Shreveport ministered in Belgium, The Netherlands and France through worship concerts, preaching and a worship institute event last March.

Calvary Worship & Missions Pastor Bryan Grisham brought Jeff & Annie Warren (youth pastors) as well as their youth worship band 'Awaken', for such varied ministry opportunities as youth concerts in Brussels and Holland, worship and preaching services in Brussels and Orleans, France, and our third Worship Institute in Holland (see above group photo).

We're always thrilled to have Calvary join us on the mission field. They bring such enthusiasm, professionalism and a heart for ministry. And our European friends love them. Thanks for coming Calvary!

A Little Family News

Kathy has had some time this year to focus on her artistic skills...and continues to amaze us with her gifts! She's painted several birds and 'stills'...we're excited to see what doors these gifts will open. Her latest project: a graduation invitation for Kayleigh (see below). Canary islands
Speaking of graduation...
Kayleigh graduates May 23 and a
lready has a full-time job working for a magazine in Shreveport. Yea Kayleigh! We've so enjoyed having more time with our daughter this year...every moment has been a treasure. We are going to miss her.

Justin is in Kona,Hawaii attending a Discipleship Training ScKayleigh.Justinhool with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). He is really enjoying the program and learning a lot. His work duty requires him to get up at 5:00 every morning to help prepare breakfast for the 400+ students at the base.  Justin travels to Cambodia in July for a missions outreach. Please keep him in your prayers. We miss him but are glad he has this opportunity.

Nick finish
Nick.before.schooles 8th grade at Youree Drive Middle School in Shreveport on May 27 and was recently awarded 'Outstanding Book Club Member' - he loves to read! He's made some friends at school this year that he'll be sad to say goodbye to..but he has some great friends in Brussels that he's looking forward to seeing over the summer and new friends waiting to be found in Paris. One summer highlight for Nick: attending an international youth camp near Vienna, Austria.

paris metroOur Current Prayer Requests

1. Pray for The Bridge and our team members. There are often unseen struggles - both tangible and spiritual - with new works like this and prayer is key to overcoming.

2. Pray that internationals in Paris would hear about The Bridge, find The Bridge and be open to the church and the gospel. There are 500,000 English-speaking internationals in Paris, with the majority unsaved and unchurched. Pray that God would give them a spiritual hunger to seek Him.

2. Pray for our family as we wrap things up in the USA, leaving Kayleigh and Justin behind while we transition to Paris. It will be a season of transition for all of us and we really need prayers for God's grace during this time.

3. Pray for our legal status in Europe. We need to see God come through in order to remain legal and able to live in France.

4.  Pray for Nick's school situation. We're still not sure of our options in Paris.

5. Pray for us as we work to raise the remainder of our monthly budget.

Thanks so much! The prayers of righteous men and women avail much!

Canary islandsWould You Help Us Build The Bridge?
We're 12% Away From Our Monthly Support Goal

Over the last few months, our pledges have increased from 70% to 88% of what we need to move to Paris! With less than three weeks until our departure date from the USA, we need to raise an additional $600.00 per month in monthly support in order to reach the final 12% of our budget.

We're encouraged and believe during these last few weeks we will see our budget needs met....but we need your help.

Partner With Us...

We would like to invite you to partner with us in building The Bridge in
Paris. There are a number of ways you can get involved. You can pray for us, partner with us financially, or 'pass it on' for us by sharing the vision with your pastor, church or Sunday School.
