Sermon: "The Holy and the Sacred"

Do you know the difference between the holy and the sacred? God calls us to be holy as God is holy. But holiness is not the same as sacredness. On this Sunday, we'll seek to define these two terms and apply them to our contemporary lives.

 

Preaching: Dr. Blair Monie 

 

Music: At the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services, the Sanctuary Choir will sing "The Ground" by Ola Gjeilo.

Vickery Meadow Health Fair
Volunteer opportunities are available before, during, and after the Fair. Speak with someone at the Atrium counter to find out how you can help. Donations of cases of bottled water and nutrition bars are also needed. More information online here.

Youth Flower Sale

Place your order in the Atrium this Sunday, October 23, or next Sunday, October 30, for pansies, kale, and bulbs. Flowers can also be purchased on the spot during pick-up times on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6. Learn more and download an order form at www.phpc.org/connect.

All-Church Fish Fry  

Sign up at the Atrium counter this Sunday for the All-Church Fish Fry. Tickets are free, but donations are appreciated and go toward the Men's Breakfast Scholarship Fund. The All-Church Fish Fry is on October 28 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall.

All-Church Turkey Dinner   

Join us for turkey, dressing, and all the other fixin's, and enjoy the music of SMU's Meadows World Music Ensemble. Tickets are $10 for adults and teens, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for ages 5 and under. Purchase tickets in the Atrium this Sunday, October 23, or next Sunday, October 30. You can also purchase tickets online here.

Friday, October 21
Growing Saints Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. in Jubilee Hall for "The Bromeliads of Ecuador". Guests are always welcome, and membership in GSGC is open to members and friends of PHPC.

 

If you're already registered, don't forget that the Epiphany Dance will be in Jubilee Hall from 6:30-9:00 p.m. tonight!

Saturday Men's Breakfast will meet in the north dining room at 7:30 a.m. 

 

Monday, October 24
Yoga will meet from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in Jubilee Hall B.

Tuesday, October 25 

Men's Breakfast will meet from 6:45-8:30 a.m. in the north dining room.

 

DivorceCare meets from 6:30-8:15 in N224. You can join the class at any time. Visit the DivorceCare page for more information.    

 

Wednesday, October 26 

Wonderful Wednesday Art Class will meet from 9 a.m. - noon in N215.

Wonderful Wednesday Lunch is from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the north dining room. Bring $4 to enjoy this delicious meal.

 

Wonderful Wednesday Bridge meets from 12:15 - 2:45 p.m. in Jubilee Hall B, E, and F.

 

 

Thursday, October 27   Tai Chi classes meet from 12:15-1:15 and 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Jubilee Hall B.
