Oh, the Things You Can Do Around Boston!
Art Fridays
Every Friday this summer local artists will be showing their work in photography, glass, metal, hand-made toys, clothing, jewlery and locally produced food in Downtown Crossing. Also featuring free music! More information and schedules are at the Art Fridays website.
 
EurekaFest
Meet the winners of this year's Lemelson-MIT prizes and InvenTeams at the forth annual EurekaFest- "a multi-day celebration designed to empower a legacy of inventors through activities that inspire youth, honor role models, and encourage creativity and problem solving." Public events run Thrusday June 17 through Saturday June 19th. Visit the EurekaFest website for details.
 
Free Movies!
Starting June 18th, free movies will be playing at the Hatch Shell by the Charles River. First up is "Grease", and other shows include "Where the Wild Things Are", "How to Train Your Dragon", and "Star Trek". Go to the website for a full schedule.  
Birthday Parties that Rock!
Pixellation: Ages 7-10, $20/child. Love the limelight? Make a cool group music video using a special animation technique called Pixellation. 1 hour.

Build-a-Bug: Ages 9-11, $20/child. Build a kid-powered LEGO creature and race it against your friends. Two options to suit age and ability. 2 hours.

Animation: Ages 9-13, $30/child. Make a movie tribute to the celebrant using an animation technique called Stop-Motion Animation. Your ideas, your story, you keep the movies. 2 hours.

Catapult: Ages 7-11, $25/child. Build and beautify an ancient wooden catapult that hurls paper balls with incredible accuracy. Materials included. 2 hours.

Video Game Design: Ages 9-13, $30/child. Think playing games is fun? Try making them. The group will be so engaged this will be the quietest party you will ever have. A favorite with older kids. Multiple options are available depending on age and level. 2 hours.
