Don't let the age of smart phones, laptops, and wi-fi fool you for Daylight Savings Time- even though your cell phone and laptop will update automatically, chances are you'll still need to adjust the time on your coffee maker and microwave. And while we're springing ahead, don't forget that April iCamp at the JCC in Newton is just around the corner and spring classes will be starting next month- check out details below, or call our office at 617-395-7527 for more information.

Extraordinary: Puppetry, Storytelling, & Spirit
The New Art Center in Newton is having a free opening reception on March 19th for a new exhibit. Check out styles and expressions of different puppet artists and explore interactive spaces within the galleries

Body Building: When Engineering Meets Medicine
Join Harvard Medical School faculty members at the Longwood Seminar series to learn how engineering plays a role in medicine today. This free event happens on March 18th.

Arabic Calligraphy in Art and Architecture
On March 13 you can learn to write your name in Arabic while exploring how the calligraphy is used in art and architecture. Registration is required for this event at Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology.
Birthday Parties that Rock!
Pixellation: Ages 7-10, $20/child. Love the limelight? Make a cool group music video using a special animation technique called Pixellation. 1 hour.

Build-a-Bug: Ages 9-11, $20/child. Build a kid-powered LEGO creature and race it against your friends. Two options to suit age and ability. 2 hours.

Animation: Ages 9-13, $30/child. Make a movie tribute to the celebrant using an animation technique called Stop-Motion Animation. Your ideas, your story, you keep the movies. 2 hours.

Catapult: Ages 7-11, $25/child. Build and beautify an ancient wooden catapult that hurls paper balls with incredible accuracy. Materials included. 2 hours.

Video Game Design: Ages 9-13, $30/child. Think playing games is fun? Try making them. The group will be so engaged this will be the quietest party you will ever have. A favorite with older kids. Multiple options are available depending on age and level. 2 hours.
