Join My Fan Page and be Eligible for Great Giveaways This Week's Contest: $25 Photo Book Coupon with Viovio

|
It all started with a recent blog post, where I compared 2 photo book programs, Shutterfly and Kodak. After the I published the post, a marketing representative from another photo book company called Viovio (I hadn't heard of it, but the name is cool) contacted me and asked if I could review Viovio and include them in the mix. She also offered me a $50 coupon. So, thinking on my feet and wanting to get a goodie for you all, I craftily negotiated an extra $25 coupon as a giveaway.
I had a winner, but could not reach her, so lucky for you all, I am rerunning this contest.
So, here's the deal... you have until Sunday, December 26, to post on my FAN page or over on the blog post, why you'd like to create a photo book and what theme you would choose for it. So have fun and be creative. A winner will be chosen on Dec. 26. Here's the blog post link for more details, and good luck!

The Good Word and 2 Quick Videos Video Testimonial from Betty Kaufman, and a Fun Wine Tasting Video
You may have read in previous issues that I had a great time blog editing for my client, Betty Kaufman, who leads wine parties at home with "Wine Shop at Home." I was thrilled to be part of Betty's new blog, Betty's Wine Musings, and encourage you all to check it out, as well as her great wine parties. Here are 2 videos. One is a testimonial from Betty (thanks, Betty!) about her experience working with me, and the other is a little marketing video I wanted to create, to show more of how Betty worked and how much fun her get togethers are. We had a great time. In fact, I had such a great time that I'm now offering video services for clients. If you are interested, contact me.

Greetings! I wanted to thank you for being part of the Carriefreelance Communications community. You are all subscribers here, and much appreciated. Just like in "A Christmas Carol," some of you are past, current, and future clients! So thank you for that, as well. It's a pleasure knowing you and working with you, and I hope the coming year leads to prosperity and great times for your business, family, and personal goals and dreams.
For new subscribers...welcome! This newsletter contains social media tips, client profiles and nifty case studies, cool online discoveries, and more. Those who are new, as well as any subscribers wanting to say hello and introduce yourself and your business, are welcome to hop on over to my FAN page, and say hi.
Speaking of the present --are the holidays stressing you out? Around this time of year, it seems like we all get a little crazy. We run around trying to get errands done, decorating so our homes look perfect, over eating (yes, that's me...how many chocolate chip cookies did I munch this weekend?) We read articles on being minimal and fantasize about how great it would be to have fewer possessions, more time, less stress. But the truth is, we can't suddenly change overnight. Not in our relationships, our possessions, our communications. It takes time to make the subtle changes that we want in our lives. We can't just become minimal because it's the latest thing to do. So relax, take a deep breath, and don't try for minimalism, try for happy.
Oh, and if keeping up with social media during the holidays is driving you a little nuts as well, try out my recent post, "Tips on Saving Time on Social Media During the Holidays."
PS Good things come to those who wait for Chris Brogan! Coming up in January's issue... I got to meet one of my online idols, the infamous and all around incredibly cool guy Chris Brogan last week (OK, I waited 3 hours in the cold, but who wouldn't?) and as a result I have a great new Fan page contest/giveaway coming up. Check my Fan page for updates in early January! (Big hint: Yup, it's a book giveaway).

My Twitter Toolkit for 7-97 Relevant Followers in 1 Week It's been my pleasure to welcome new client Hedi Katz, from Tribarter. The first stage of my working with Hedi involved increasing relevant Twitter followers so she could boost her online profile. Here are the tools I used to get from 7-97 relevant followers in just one week: 1. I used socialoomph to set up an account for Hedi, which I also use to track metrics as they developed, including click-throughs, etc. The free version allows users to set up Direct Messages to followers, schedule tweets in advance, and decide whether they want to autofollow those who follow them, or filter these responses. In this case, I created a message to direct followers to the web site, which is where all the action is. 2. I liked search.twitter.com for checking out the latest tweets and tweeters in the green space, and following those relevant folks as well. 3. Twello is a great tool that works like a Yellow Pages and lists Twitter profiles by category. You can search companies in desired categories, and also list your own. 4. New! On December 3, a new tool was introduced, called ReSearch.ly.
PeopleBrowsr, the Social Search engine and analytics company, launched ReSearch.ly, a product for online marketers, brand managers, and social media experts to get real-time analytics and conversations from the social web. ReSearch.ly provides demographic data, sentiment analysis, real-time and historic mentions and viral analytics for any keyword. It identifies people who are talking about a particular interest, and then instantly drills down to uncover rich data about that Interest Graph, including location, sentiment, gender as well as related word clouds, hashtags, links, @names, etc.
I'm excited about this new tool and look forward to trying it out for Phase 2 of Hedi's Tribarter Twitter project. Results will follow in the next issue. In the meantime, follow along for green tips, great eco resources, and info on how you can trade in your excess "stuff" for needed stuff, and help out the environment, as well as your wallet.
