Happy spring, everyone! I find it rejuvenating this time of year to take a little break from business now and then and get out into nature, as evidence by this photo of me inside a redwood tree. OK, maybe you don't have to go that far, but whatever your choice of recreation, I hope you find that the benefits come full circle and bring you success and abundance in your business.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've launched a new column on my blog called "Marketing Monday," in which (almost) every Monday) I'll be taking a personal marketing experience, such as event, promotion, giveaway, or whatever, and offering tips on what worked and what didn't, and a final "Thumbs Up," or "Thumbs Not So Much," for the experience. In one of my recent posts, I presented a review of an event called "Next Tech" sponsored by Dice and featuring a great panel talking about the future of technology. Here is a link to the post, which also contains a link to a video where the Dice marketing people videotaped me talking about the conference. excited about writing a new feature article on dogwalking trends in
south San Francisco for a prominent city newspaper. In my research, I
have learned that there are about 150,000 dogs in San Francisco. Woof!

- I'm attending the upcoming Mequoda Social Media Summit in Napa as Press, and will be covering highlights, including special sessions on using Twitter, Linked In and Facebook, copywriting for the Web, monetization tips, and more. In the next issue of The Butterfly and on my blog, I'll be sharing the latest trends with you.
- I was thrilled to be invited to write a guest blog for East Bay writer extraordinaire and writing coach Beth Berany. I wrote a humor piece on when writers Tweet, and Twitter tips, and I'll be including the link when it's published, in my next issue.
