| We are pleased to announce an early pre season delivery of our very favorite fresh red king crab direct from Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The season officially opens on October 15th but Captain Owen of the Northern Sea, has a quota of 220,000 lbs to fill before the 15th. The proceeds of this catch goes to pay for the Fish and Game observers that travel on the the boats during the regular season.
The Northern Sea will be in port on Monday, the crab will be unloaded, processed, cooked and in our hands by Thursday! This is the best tasting crab of the year as everyone who tried it last year knows. If you have never tried fresh king crab, you are in for a rare treat! Stop by for a taste and prepare to be amazed at the flavor.
Dirk's Fish is only place in the Chicago area to have this resource available for retail sale to the public. We encourage you to order ahead so we can put your crab away. Two hundred pounds are due in for the weekend and we expect it to go fast! The crab will be coming in on a regular basis and we have a program in place that will insure that we will have fresh crab each week and even for the holidays this year (I hope).
Chris and I are flying up to Dutch Harbor later this month to see the entire processing facility and cement our realationship with our suppliers to be sure that we receive an ample supply and what you get from us is "only the very best". We will take plenty of pictures to show you and we are sure to have a story or two to tell after hanging out with the captains and crew of "The Deadliest Catch". |
