Greetings!
As we often do, this past week WRR took on the care of an animal in dire need of medical attention. While many would have immediately looked at Corbin and decided that he was not worth the time or expense to save his precious life, WRR gave him a chance. Please read his story. We know he will touch you the way he has touched so many of his caretakers in our clinic. In addition to the two special-needs animals featured in this newsletter (Corbin and Jackson, a blind dog saved from being shot), WRR has several young cats at our new cat shelter in San Antonio, a part of the Roger & Phyllis Sherman Animal Care Complex. Pictured below, Austin and Benjamin Button are just two of the loving cats there who would like to find a family. Visit us at 137 Earl Street to meet all of the wonderful felines up for adoption.
Sincerely, Executive Director & COOWildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc.

Emergency Help Needed for Corbin!Corbin is a loving, geriatric tabby cat, who was brought to our veterinarian's doorstep late one evening last week. He was in a dire and life-threatening condition, suffering from severe emaciation, dehydration, infection, and blood loss from a large bite wound on his chest. Corbin has received a blood transfusion, and while it is still touch-and-go, the transfusion is yielding positive results. He now eats and drinks on his own and responds to the round-the-clock care of our staff with loud purring. He has worked his way into our hearts in just a few short days. Corbin wants to live and he is fighting to do so. We believe that this sweet boy is worth every ounce of time and effort to help him survive. While his continued treatments are costly, we will continue to move forward with the help of your valued support. Please help us raise $500 to cover the costs of his initial transfusion plus an additional $500 for future care. As soon as Corbin is well, we will be seeking a permanent, safe home for him. Make a special donation to help heal Corbin...

JacksonJackson is a 4-year-old blind black Lab mix whose person suddenly died in December. He had rescued Jackson after he was hit by a car that poor Jackson had no way to see coming. Jackson was taken in by family members, along with the other companion animals left homeless by the death, but they decided that Jackson was too much trouble and they couldn't give him the time and attention he needs. Unable to afford to have him killed humanely by a veterinarian, they threatened to shoot him if he did not find a safe place by Friday. Fortunately for Jackson, another caring family member contacted WRR and we agreed to take him in and find him a new and loving home. Jackson gets along well with other animals and is very well-behaved. He knows how to sit and come and even knows "door" which if repeated a few times can keep him walking straight down a long unfamiliar hallway. He is still sad about the loss of his person, so we need to find him a stable home that will shower on him all of the love he misses. Learn more about adopting Jackson...
