The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) will award two or more scholarships for the 2011-2012 school year. The award is for one academic year, and may be used for any educationally related expenses at any college or university chosen by the scholarship winner. Scholarships are awarded based on performance and achievement and are available for returning college students as well as incoming college freshmen. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college or university. Application is due Sunday, APRIL 1.

Skis & Coaches Needed for Rural Alaska |

Help spread Nordic skiing to NW Alaska!
Do you have gently used skis in your garage to donate to rural Alaska villages? Lars Flora is introducing cross country skiing to students in the northwest Arctic through a program titled NANANordic. We are looking for either skate or classic skis, boots and poles in sizes from elementary to adult. If you are able to contribute skis, please drop them at the NSAA office 10-5 M-F (203 W. 15th Ave, #204) or contact Lars (email or 907-717-7627) or contact Robin Kornfield. For the 2012 season skis need to be delivered by April 6th.
Are you interested in coaching? NANANordic is looking for coaches to help out for five days at the following villages. Transportation and expenses are covered by the program.

- April 10th-14th: Kotzebue Skiing
- April 15th-20th: Kiana Skiing
- April 21st-26th: Noorvik Skiing
- April 27th-May 2: Selawik Skiing
