2012 Ski Train Rolls! - March 24 |
Tickets on sale October 3rd |
Don't be left at the station! Monday, Oct 3rd tickets will go on sale for the best winte r day in Alaska. Save March 24th for the annual NSAA Ski Train. We'll be going north to Curry. Tickets are $100 for members and $140 for non-members. It's members-only purchase until November 7th, but members may buy a limited number of tickets for their non-member guests. Get your group together. Download your order form. Select which style seats you'd like - recliner seats, booth-style table seating or the booth-style boom-box party cars. Mail, fax or email your order. Better yet, stop by the office between 10am to 5pm M-F and select your own choice seats starting Monday, Oct 3rd. |

New & Improved Ski Swap and Annual Meeting - Sat, Nov 5 | Kincaid Chalet & Bunker |
It's time for the Annual Meeting! Time to check out some new gear at the swap, mingle with friends, enjoy good music and food at the potluck (bring a side), check out NSAA programs, vote for new board members, approve some NSAA By-Law changes, admire our photo contest winners, and win one of the many great DOOR PRIZES. It's all happening Saturday, November 5!
Gear swap is expanding this year. We're movin' to the bunker. Bring your gear in from 2:30-4:00 only. NEW - a consignment area for those who'd like to shop instead of minding their own sales. Doors open from 4:00-6:00 for gear sales. Waxing Demo (for your skis) at 5:00pm in the bunker. After the swap, come to the Chalet for music by Paul Anderson & band, food, and fun. Dinner begins at 6:00. Meeting and door prizes begin at 6:30. As always, NSAA will provide brats, drinks and desserts - you provide sides & salads. Fun for the whole family!

Anchorage Junior Nordic League - getting Anchorage skiers off to a great start. Registration will open online October 1st. Kids ages 6 to 14 of all abilities are welcome. Space is limited, so sign up today.

Draft Management Plan ready for review |
The Draft Chugach State Park Trail Management Plan was issued for public review in August of 2009. During the comment period 200 comments were received on the trail plan. A summary of the comment issues, responses, and any recommended revisions to the plan is available now for public review and comment.

Local adaptive skier, Ira Edwards, giving back |

Ira Edwards is partnering with CXC Adaptive, AMH and Rossignol to provide sitskis to local area schools so that students with physical limitations can enjoy the sport of skiing. The project is in need of bindings (SNS profile bindings), poles (lots and lots of all sizes) and of course cash. Can you help?
